Victim Portal

The Victim Portal—part of PROSECUTOR by Karpel’s Integrated Victim Services—is a secure, user-friendly platform that enhances communication and engagement between victim advocates and individuals affected by crime. It offers an efficient, paperless way to stay informed and participate in the legal process through tools like:

  • Real-time case access: Victims can view approved updates to their case status, including important court dates.

  • Document handling: Securely sign documents (e.g., medical release forms) and upload required materials electronically.

  • Two-way communication: Easily exchange messages via text or email. Automated notifications ensure victims receive timely alerts about case developments—text messages are automatically logged into the case file.

How to Sign Up for the Victim Portal

To enable access to the Victim Portal:

  1. Victim Witness Setup: Your Victim/Witness Coordinator will enable a victim’s portal account and provide login credentials or instructions for access.

  2. Receive Access Info: Victims receive onboarding via their preferred method—print, email, or text—outlining how to register and log in.

  3. Log In and Engage: Once registered, victims can log in to view updates, sign documents, and communicate securely with their advocate. It’s important they follow the secure access instructions provided by your office.

  4. Ongoing Updates: Information about upcoming dates or required documents will be communicated proactively via text or email and logged in the case file for transparency.

Benefits of the Victim Portal

•    Empowers victims by providing direct access to case information and updates.
•    Improves efficiency—reduces reliance on paper-based processes, making communication faster and more reliable.
•    Enhances documentation—every message, action, or document interaction is automatically recorded in the case file.
